Interesting... since you added PS2 + PS3 together for August... you may want to add Xbox 1 + Xbox 360 data for August on Madden '08... and realize Xbox + Xbox 360 sold more Madden '08 than PS2 + PS3, using NPD data. I am giving you a 7 for effort and a 2.5 for content.
It has provided 2 price drops in less than a year (unprecedented), sold off some of its shares to support the gaming division, and have gone around pleading with 3rd party developers to stick with the PS3. I don't think I would call that being calmed... but borderline desperate.
Ratchet is a AAA title... I have played it and agree that is a very well done game. As for Uncharted it is not out yet, but I doubt it will get the same reviews as Ratchet. I expect a few 9s for Uncharted, but mostly 8s.
It doesn't matter what sales are 2 - 3 weeks after a price cut... what matters is if those sales can hold up 2 - 3 months after a price cut.
Just like we did in July when the PS3 had its first $100 price cut. Sorry but there won't be a "storm"... a limited bump in sales yes, a storm no.
I call bullshit on your post. I have the game and it does not exhibit any of the glitches and troubles you are talking about. Maybe you are playing it on an 8-year old PC I could see that... not the case on 360 or high-end PCs.
Unnecesary and uncalled for... minus 1 bubble
Getting an 8.5 doesn't mean is not a must-buy game... I think it is probably the most fun on the PS3 right now.
I played this demo several times and I think it is a very fun game... very well done graphically for its art concept... but I think an 8.5 score is right on the money for this game.
Without an online play that would keep people playing for months after its release it can be a good game, but not a Gears of War.
Gears of War, Crackdown, Bioshock, and Mass Effect were all new IPs but they don't count for you?
Framerate problems affects the game more and detracts from the gameplay much more than distance filtering stuff.
Seems like nasim found a quick counter to the PS3's framerate problems, who in my opinion are way more serious than this.
Well, this is not the first game to have framerate issues on the PS3... I wonder why. Is it the PS3 memory architecture or the developers' incompetence?
It comes with a memory card, which is all you need to save your games' progress. If you want to download demos, additional maps, etc... then you would need an HDD.
I think you need to go back to school and learn how to write well... then you may go back to loving your PS3.
The IGN reviewer that reviewed it was a noobie reviewer... actually the first review for that person... if it would have been an old school IGN reviewer doing the job the game would have gotten a similar score to the one given by Gamespot
Since 360 gamers "only play shooters all the time", PS3 gamers would get their assess handed over to them time after time
PS. I am just joking by the way... couldn't resist
The current Premium 360s have HDMI... also the newer ones have the improved hardware and the Falcon chipset.
Because they will listen to you and do everything you say...
